Food Lover

Do You Love Food?

 Hi guys, Happy new year!  Welcome back to my blog. What are your new year resolutions? One of mine is to be a better cook. I love cooking as much as I love eating, though I have my lazy days.

 As a Nigerian who loves Nigerian food, I also fancy varieties of Food from places abroad. Where do you live that fantasy? On TV watching food channel! I get hungry when I watch it. Who doesn't?

    I watch Food channel so much it annoys my siblings and we fight over the remote. It's like an alternate food world, but it does suck to see it but not touch it or taste it, only imagining your taste buds exploding with flavour instead of the chefs' and cooks' on TV.

But I don't want to talk too much about my obsession with food because I happen to be a very slim girl.

One thing I noted about a lot of people where I'm from, we don't care so much about the nutrients in what we eat, but about how it tastes. And by "we" I mean, us kids. Especially me. I don't like anything that is bitter which in most cases comes in form of greens.

Little fact about me. I don't like mint. I can use mint-flavoured toothpaste and stuff. But I don't like mint in my food, or mouth.

Moving on, let me parade my country's delicacies jo. If you're not from Nigeria, and you ever come to Nigeria and go for our traditional food. Here's a few options you can request for;

This is pounded yam and vegetable soup or efo riro. 😌

Fried rice and chicken.

Yam and egg sauce. Mmmm... One of my favourites. For real, I could eat this all day, I don't know why.

Moi-moi... I'm pretty sure every Nigerian loves this meal and I would say everyone who has eaten this meal have continued to eat this meal.

And from my hometown, I present the tasty, savoury, "Banga soup". We eat it with swallows like pounded yam, semovita and so on etc.

And also from my home town... We have starch and starch. Both are made of starch, the swallow is called starch and the soup is called owo soup. My dad loves this. Lol.

Just looking at these lined up here, my mouth is watering. πŸ˜„πŸ˜„Naija people... Am I right?

If you liked or enjoyed this post, comment below and you are free to leave ideas for my next blog post. I want to know your favourite food, and if you are a Nigerian, you favourite Nigerian food. Comment as much as you'd like and share it with your friends and family. And don't forget to check out my other posts. Buh-bye.
